Living Where the Wild Things Are

I had to force myself to take a day off of snowboarding today. I'm so sore from riding ridiculous amounts of powder all weekend, so I figured a day of recovery was in order. I feel like I'm still fairly new to Jackson Hole, so whenever I'm in a new place I always like to explore. When I lived in Seattle, I would run places. Being that there is so much snow on the ground and it's pretty cold outside, I usually like to take photo drives, where I take my camera and see what I can find. This time I decided to head into the Elk Refuge. Not more than ten minutes from my front door, it's a place where elk can come and hang out during the tough Wyoming winters. Little did I know, there's a lot more going on here than elk eating alfalfa pellets and tourists on sleigh rides...

Um...excuse me.

Yum!

Note the town of Jackson in the background...

This guy's cool.

Baby sheep!

Formal portraits.

Apparently my car tasted really good.

Okay, you can go away now...

After I was finally able to roll away from the sheep, I was only a few more minutes down the road when I saw this...

I think he's even looking at me...

He is! AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!

Here's the area I'm dealing with...that's Snow King, the "Town Hill" ski resort in the background.

I'll leave you with this. Just another herd of bighorn sheep hanging out five minutes from my house. Ooooh Wyoming.
