snoqualmie pass engagement | darek & nikki

I love that time of year when the seasons are changing from fall to winter. If you're lucky, you can hope to get a little bit of white dusting on top of those bright autumn trees. I couldn't have been more thrilled with the way Darek & Nikki's engagement session turned out. Both of them love camping and the outdoors so we went up to Snoqualmie Pass and had a little campfire time together. After that we headed up to the lake for some stunning mountain views and a little bit of soaking up the last sunshine of the day. We topped of the evening at the Ballroom, the Seattle bar where these two met. I'm happy to call these two friends and can't wait to photograph their wedding next summer in Leavenworth. Something I loved about this session was the amount of trust that they put in me to photograph them. While we had some basic ideas going into it, they ended up letting me choose the final location and time of day. This resulted in some of my favorite images to date and some of the most beautiful lighting and scenery of the season. If you're in doubt about where to take your photos, ask your photographer! Sometimes they might be up for a new adventure and you'll end up with something totally unique. Anyway, happy holidays to everyone out there. Hope it's a beautiful season for you. On to the photos :)
