For a while now I've been wanting to set up a portrait shoot with David using off camera flash. I don't know what's been stopping me, probably laziness or being busy. Anyway, today he got all dressed up in his snowboarding garb and we headed over to the UW campus. I had a few shots in mind, but we found a really sort of cool looking loading dock that we started with.
After too many cars started pulling up we moved over to a little brick stairwell.
After spending too much time in the engineering building in college, I remembered this cool spot with a "hallway" of pillars. I used to walk through there when it was raining. The shot I had thought about ahead of time was using the pillars as framing, having the flash come out from in between two pillars at David while I stood far away. It turned out just how I wanted it.
With all of the people starting to ask me to take photos for them, I figure that I should get some practice under my belt. In conclusion, I love flash. I can't wait to do more!
