Hail, pouring rain and lightning thundered over the mountains on July 6 without much warning. I was driving down the Moose-Wilson Road up to Dornan's with my second shooter David Duffy and couldn't imagine walking through the sage fields with a lady in a wedding dress and guy in a suit to take photos. Chase stood nervous at the alter which had been moved under the pavilion and Annie waited in the shuttle with her parents and bridesmaids. Everyone's shoes were already soaking wet and raincoats covered up flowery summer dresses and dress shirts. As the rain began to calm and the clouds began to part, the sun peeked over the Tetons just in time for the ceremony. It was perfect. Vows were exchanged, dinner and drinks were enjoyed at beautifully decorated rustic banquet tables (the antler accents were amazing!), and I was able to capture special moments of a couple that I totally adore, with only a little bit of walking through the mud. Annie and Chase are pretty tough though, and Annie didn't seem to have any problem walking up a slippery hillside in her satin high heels. Storm and all this was a perfect day for this adorable local couple. I'm sure they wouldn't have it any other way.
