Tram Jam

For those that were there, they know how amazing it was. A random apres-ski dance party commenced underneath the Jackson Hole tram for a few random weekends in March. The two man wrecking crew consisted of David Duffy, aka llluminate, and Rob Zoppel, aka Fiesta Bob. Hear more from both of them on Jackson Hole's very own KHOL on Saturday nights or visit Sound Cloud.

James Beard Preview Dinner

Jackson Hole's very own Chef Rick Sordahl was chosen to cook dinner at the James Beard House in New York City this April. He decided to do a lamb-themed dinner with wine pairings sponsored by Kingston Vineyards. I had the privilege of photographing the preview dinner this month held at Amangani.

Here are a few of my favorites from the event:

Fine dining with a view.

Fireside dinner.

Lamb Carpaccio.

One of Amangani's chefs preparing lamb confit.

Guests enjoying the main course.

One of Pastry Chef Dwayne-Neal Horikami's creations.

Living Where the Wild Things Are

I had to force myself to take a day off of snowboarding today. I'm so sore from riding ridiculous amounts of powder all weekend, so I figured a day of recovery was in order. I feel like I'm still fairly new to Jackson Hole, so whenever I'm in a new place I always like to explore. When I lived in Seattle, I would run places. Being that there is so much snow on the ground and it's pretty cold outside, I usually like to take photo drives, where I take my camera and see what I can find. This time I decided to head into the Elk Refuge. Not more than ten minutes from my front door, it's a place where elk can come and hang out during the tough Wyoming winters. Little did I know, there's a lot more going on here than elk eating alfalfa pellets and tourists on sleigh rides...

Um...excuse me.

Yum!

Note the town of Jackson in the background...

This guy's cool.

Baby sheep!

Formal portraits.

Apparently my car tasted really good.

Okay, you can go away now...

After I was finally able to roll away from the sheep, I was only a few more minutes down the road when I saw this...

I think he's even looking at me...

He is! AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!

Here's the area I'm dealing with...that's Snow King, the "Town Hill" ski resort in the background.

I'll leave you with this. Just another herd of bighorn sheep hanging out five minutes from my house. Ooooh Wyoming.
